Old Well Motel & Grill opened in 1960

This This was the photograph used for the The Old Well Motel and Grill in the 60's. The description on the back read "Located 37 miles east of Sacramento on Hwy. 49 in the Motherlode Country. Covering over an acre, it is air-conditioned, has a swimming pool, barbecues, and gold panning. A resort open the year 'round."
Kaffer family's Old Well Motel & Grill turns 50

Original owners Mary Lou Kaffer and her son Edwin celebrated the half-century anniversary of an Amador County original Aug. 14th, 2010, when the Old Well Grill and Motel in Drytown hosted an all-day party to commemorate the occasion.... Read Full Article
Buena Vista Rancheria hosts Phase II of its Cultural Monitoring Training

For the second time this year, the Buena Vista Rancheria is hosting a week-long cultural monitoriBuena Vista Cultural Monitoringng training program at the Days Inn in Sutter Creek. In February of this year, Phase I of the course brought over 60 participants and guests to Amador County, many for the first time.
