Campfire Permits / Vehicle Use
Campfire permits are not required in developed camp and picnic sites, but a special permit is required to go into the Mokelumne Wilderness area.
Campfire permits are required for camping and
cooking on all other underdeveloped National Forest land. To be sure, check with
the U.S. Forest Service at 6820 Silver Drive, off Hwy 88 above Pioneer.

Any type of organized recreational event must be authorized
by a special use permit by the ranger of the district.
